Depending on its natural orientation, some Gund items are measured standing and some lying down. Most teddy bears are measured while in a standing position, unless the bear is meant to be in a sitting position, as in the pot belly bears. The measurement is taken from the top of the ears to the bottom of its feet, or from top of the ears to its bottom while sitting. Most stuffed dogs, cats and other four-legged animals are measured lying down. The measurement is taken from the nose or front paws (whichever extends furthest) to its back feet (not including its tail) or from its nose to the beginning of tail.
a word about beads... Beads are used in most GUND animals and teddy bears to distribute weight correctly for intended positioning, sitting or lying down. Most of our Gund and Gund Kids products, including the Gund Sesame Street Collection, will contain beads in the tail or bottom area and some have beads at the ends of top and/or bottom feet.
